Llwyn Nwydog Farm and Holiday Cottages

Llwyn Nwydog Farm nestles in a quiet part of the Vale of Glamorgan near Cardiff, South Wales UK. Six stone cottages have been attractively and sympathetically converted to an exceptionally high standard from the 19th century and earlier farm buildings adjoining the owners' 16th century farmhouse. At the turn of the century Llwyn Nwydog Farm was one of the largest farms in the area, being over 100 acres. Now reduced in size to 78 acres, the farm has been preserved to provide pleasant walks through the moorland, woodland and meadows, which have not suffered from modern intensive farming. They remain unspoilt retaining many of their wild flowers, grasses, butterflies and wildlife. The farming activity now consists of a small flock of breeding Welsh mountain sheep, a few breeding Welsh Black cows, along with chickens and geese. Five acres of young native deciduous trees have also recently been planted. The grounds also provide ample opportunity for relaxation, picnics, sunbathing (weather permitting!), ball games and exploring. For the fisherman, a visit to the local Trout and Coarse Fishing Lakes next door could revive memories of the one that got away!
